Fibre Ultra Rich Plantago + Inulin is an excellent natural source of fibre. Psyllium is a bulk-forming laxative and is high in both fibre and mucilage; psyllium contains 10–30% mucilage. The laxative properties of psyllium are due to the swelling of the husk when it comes into contact with water; this forms a gelatinous mass that keeps feces hydrated and soft, provided it is taken with sufficient water. The resulting bulk stimulates a reflex contraction of the bowel walls and promotes bowel movements.

Directions

Adults ≥ 19 years old: Take 1 teaspoon twice daily. For each gram of psyllium, take with 30 ml of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice, or similar aqueous beverage). Drink immediately and maintain adequate fluid intake. Effects observed 12–24 hours after the first dose; results may take 2–3 days. If you are taking other medications, take this product 2 hours before or after them. Avoid long-term use, and consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 6 weeks. Also take 1–2 capsules of enteric-coated Acidophilus Ultra each day. Start progressively or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Our Acidophilus Ultra capsule is protected by an enteric coating. The capsule must survive stomach acids and be delivered to the small intestine in order to work. The beneficial activity of acidophilus capsules without an enteric coating is destroyed in the stomach by stomach acids.
